Czech TV hacked - The fake of nuclear explosion

On 17 June 2007 was hacked Czech TV called CT2. ZTOHOVEN group hacked CT2 and broadcast fake nuclear explosion in Czech republic. What happaned to CT2?

CT2 broadcast everyday programme "Panoramata" - they show views from a few locations in Czech republic. They use extenral cameras instaled in nature. Hackers use one a camera for they broadcasting - they had recorded the view of the camera day ago and add fake nuclear explostion to the movie. Next day they reconnect wires on the external CT2's camera and use they material for broadcast.

This is a awful social engineering atact - you can see what is possible if you do not take care about your informations. Why was not checked external recorded materials before brodcast?

Who is responsible?

CT2 has leased this cameras and programme from Sitour. Sitour provides all, but their technic and material are not brodcast anywhere by theyself. CT2 is responsible (of course in law too) what malerial broadcast. The council for TV broadcasting say same. Responsible is CT and impend penalize for 10 mil. kè (450,000 dolars/338,000 euros).

The hackers

Czech police knows who hacked the TV, they caled self as ZTOHOVEN (it means "hundredShits" - with little mistake). Czech law speak about 5mil. penalize or max 5 years in prison. ZTOHOVEN speech about they attac as art and that they showed how media affect us.

Psychology

Very interest is the anket. About 3/4 consider attack as good joke. Only about 5% percent of people think that attack can make panic. But this attack was very easy - it was only about time who will do it. Their fake of nuclear explostion is not good - the explosion is small, no trees fell down.. We can be happy that they do this hack this way, if they use this "better" and combine it with Czech alarm system...
